Tawa Pulao (Mumbai Street Style)


  • 4 cups Cooked Basmati Rice
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon ShreeGun Pav Bhaji Masala
  • 2 potatoes (boiled, peeled and cubed)
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ cup green peas
  • 1 cup Assorted vegetables (beans, carrots, cauliflower, bell peppers)
  • ¼ cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

            Cooking Instructions:

            1. Heat the oil in a Tawa (large flat pan) over medium-high heat.

            2. Add the cumin seeds and sauté and let it sizzlies.

            3. Add the chopped onion, green chilies, ginger paste and garlic paste and sauté until the onion turns golden brown.

            4. Add the ShreeGun Pav Bhaji Masala and mix it all together.

            5. Add the cubed potatoes and sauté for a few minutes.

            6. Add the chopped tomatoes, assorted vegetables and green peas and cook for a few minutes. Add salt to taste.

            7. Add the cooked Basmati rice and mix it all together.

            8. Stir and Cook for 5 minutes.

            9. Finally, lemon juice add the chopped coriander leaves and mix it all together.

            10. Serve hot with chopped onion, lemon and yogurt.
